Dealer trades, start to finish, in one app.
The request, what goes back, both signatures, the driver and the invoices — in one place, instead of a phone call and a spreadsheet.
iPhone and Android · dealership staff and drivers
Six steps, and every one of them leaves a record.
The same trade your stores already do — only the part that used to be a phone call is now a document two dealerships signed.
Everything waiting on you, on one screen.
Your store opens the app to what needs a signature, what is in transit and what is still a draft — not to a wall of menus.
- ✓Requests go to the stores in your market, and you see each answer as it lands.
- ✓Costs from both sides on one sheet, before anybody signs.
- ✓Where the car is right now, leg by leg, with the driver one tap away.
- ✓Several rooftops under one login — switch stores without signing out.
- ✓Invoices addressed to the accounts payable contact you set once.
Take the drive, follow the checklist, get paid.
The driver's half of the app is built for someone standing on a lot in the rain with one hand free.
- ✓Offers show the stores, the miles, the drive time and the pay before you accept.
- ✓Scan the VIN off the windshield — the wrong car is a hard stop, not a warning.
- ✓A guided walk-around: six photographs, the odometer, and you are done.
- ✓No signal in the back of the lot? The checklist is saved and sent when you have bars.
- ✓The invoice for the round trip is raised for you when the last leg closes.
What a trade leaves behind when it is finished.
Six months later, a question about a scratch, a mileage reading or who agreed to what has an answer — with a timestamp on it.
Verified, not typed
Scanned off the vehicle at pickup and at delivery. A mismatch stops the driver.
Six, every handoff
A guided walk-around at each leg. The photographs belong to the trade, not to one store.
Read and photographed
The mileage at every pickup and drop-off, written down by whoever was standing there.
Who had the car, and when
Accepted, collected, delivered, swapped, returned — each one stamped.
Signed and immutable
An edit creates a new version both stores re-sign. The old one is never touched.
Raised, not chased
The driver's invoice and the DealerTrades fee go to the contact you named once.
Bring your market onto DealerTrades.
Tell us your rooftops and the makes you carry, and we will walk your team through setup.
The trade desk, on the phone already in your pocket.
DealerTrades is for franchised stores doing what they already do — getting the exact car a customer asked for from another store, and sending one of theirs back.
Sending a request
Enter the vehicle by VIN, or scan it off a window sticker. Choose the dealerships in your market — one of them, or all of them. Say whether a customer is already committed, because the store on the other end answers a committed buyer differently from a question. The first store to accept becomes the responding dealer, and the rest of the request closes itself.
Answering one
Incoming requests arrive with the vehicle, the market and the situation. You say whether you have it, name what you want back, and enter your costs. Both stores then see one sheet with both sides' numbers on it, before either of you signs.
Signing, and what happens after
Both stores sign the same agreement and it locks. From that moment the trade is a document, not a conversation: if something has to change, a new version is created and both stores sign again — the earlier version and its signatures stay exactly as they were.
Where the car is
Accepted, en route to pickup, collected, en route to the other store, swapped, on the way back, delivered. Each step stamped as it happens, with the driver's name and number on the screen — so the salesperson asking "where's the car" gets a real answer.
Set it up once.
Your rooftops
Several stores under one login, each with its own users, drivers and accounts payable contact. Switch stores without signing out.
Your people
Rooftop administrators invite staff by e-mail. Approval thresholds mean a deal above a number waits for an administrator's signature.
Your drivers
In-house employees and the preferred drivers you already use, with the hourly rate your store pays them.
A round trip, a checklist, and an invoice that writes itself.
Dealerships bring their own drivers onto DealerTrades — people they already work with. If a store has invited you, the app is where the work shows up.
The offer
A drive arrives with everything you need to decide: both dealerships, the pickup time, the distance, the estimated driving time and what the job pays. Accept it and it is yours — the other drivers who were offered it see it go.
The two legs
You take the first store's vehicle to the second, swap it for the vehicle coming back, and return. At each handoff the app walks you through the same short checklist: scan the VIN, read the odometer, take six photographs around the car, and note anything already damaged before you drive away.
The wrong car is a hard stop
If the scanned VIN is not the vehicle on the trade, the app will not let the checklist continue. That protects you as much as the stores.
It works without signal
Photographs and checklist answers are kept on the phone and sent when you are back in coverage. Nothing you did on the lot is lost.
Paid by the hour
At the rate the dealership set for you. The app will not let a store price a drive below minimum wage for the hours it will realistically take.
Your invoice is raised for you
When the last leg closes, the invoice for the round trip goes to the dealership's accounts payable contact.
Your drives, kept
Upcoming and past drives, with the invoice for each, in the app — not in a text thread you have to scroll back through.
One app, both hats
If you also work at a store, the same login carries both roles.
Getting started
A dealership invites you by e-mail or text. You confirm who you are, add your driver's licence and proof of insurance, take a profile photograph, and watch a short training video. After that, drives from that store arrive in the app.
Want to drive for a store that is not on DealerTrades yet? Ask them to get in touch — we will set them up.

Getting help with DealerTrades
Whether you are a dealership user or a driver, this is where to reach a person.
We answer within one business day.
Monday to Friday.
Writes to us with your store, your role and the trade you are looking at already attached.
Common questions
I was invited but the link does not work
Invitation links expire. Ask the person who invited you to send it again from More → Dealership users, or write to us and we will reissue it.
The VIN will not scan
Scan the sticker in the driver's door jamb rather than the windshield if the glass is dirty or the sun is on it. You can always type the seventeen characters instead — the app checks them against the trade either way.
I am a driver and I need to cancel a drive
Cancel it in the app as early as you can so the store can find someone else. Repeated cancellations affect your standing with the stores you drive for.
An invoice is wrong
Write to support with the trade number — it looks like DT-0000220 — and tell us what is wrong. Nothing on a signed agreement is edited quietly: a correction produces a new version that both dealerships sign.

Privacy Policy
Last updated 15 October 2026
This policy explains what Dealer Trades, LLC ("DealerTrades", "we") collects when you use the DealerTrades mobile app or this website, why we collect it, who it is shared with, and what you can ask us to do with it.
We collect what a vehicle trade needs in order to be provable: who agreed to what, which vehicle moved, who drove it, and what it looked like at each handoff. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Who we are
Dealer Trades, LLC, 300 State St Unit 92691, Southlake, TX 76092-1225, United States. Privacy questions: info@dealertrades.com.
What we collect
| Category | Examples | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Account | Name, work e-mail, mobile number, job title, profile photograph, password (stored only as a hash) | To create and secure your account and show colleagues who did what |
| Dealership | Store name, address, market, franchise makes, accounts payable contact | To route trades and address invoices |
| Trade | VIN, year, make, model, stock number, invoice figures and costs disclosed by each store, the signed agreement and its signatures | To carry out and evidence the trade |
| Drive | Pickup and delivery times, odometer readings, checklist answers, vehicle photographs, damage notes | To record the condition and custody of each vehicle |
| Location | The driver's approximate location while a drive is active, and only from the driver's device | So both dealerships can see where their vehicle is; it stops when the round trip ends |
| Driver documents | Driver's licence, proof of insurance | To confirm a driver may lawfully drive a dealership's vehicle |
| Device and usage | Device model, operating system version, app version, crash reports, log timestamps | To keep the app working and secure |
We do not ask for a Social Security number, a driver's financial account details, or any health information.
Location, specifically
Location is collected from a driver's device only while that driver has an active drive, and only to show the dealerships on that trade where their vehicle is. It is not collected when the app is closed and there is no active drive, it is not collected from dealership users, and it is never used for advertising or sold.
Who sees it
- The other dealership on the trade — the vehicle details, the disclosed costs, the agreement and its signatures, the checklists and photographs for the vehicles exchanged.
- The assigned driver — the stores, the addresses, the contacts and the vehicles for that drive.
- Your own dealership — administrators at your store see the trades and users of that store.
- Service providers — hosting, e-mail and text delivery, error monitoring and payment processing, each under contract and only to provide the service.
- When the law requires it — a lawful request, or to establish or defend a legal claim.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.
How long we keep it
Signed trade agreements, invoices and the custody record of a vehicle are business records: we keep them for seven years after the trade closes, because both dealerships, their auditors and the tax authorities may need them. Account and profile information is kept while your account is open and deleted afterwards as described under Account deletion.
Your choices
- See and correct your profile in the app, under More → Your profile.
- Ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Ask us to delete your account — see Account deletion.
- Turn off push notifications in your device settings at any time.
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act gives you rights to know, delete, correct and to opt out of sale or sharing. We do not sell or share personal information, and we will not treat you differently for exercising a right. Write to info@dealertrades.com.
Security
Traffic is encrypted in transit, passwords are stored only as hashes, and access to production data is limited to the staff who need it. No system is perfect; if a breach affects you we will tell you as the law requires.
Children
DealerTrades is a tool for people at work. It is not directed to anyone under 18 and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date above and, for a material change, tell you in the app.

Account deletion
Last updated 15 October 2026
You can ask us to delete your DealerTrades account at any time, whether you are a dealership user or a driver.
How to ask
- In the app — More → Your profile → Delete account, and confirm.
- By e-mail — write to info@dealertrades.com from the address on your account, with the word delete in the subject.
We confirm the request, then complete it within 30 days.
What is deleted
- Your profile: name, e-mail, mobile number, job title, profile photograph and signature.
- Your login and password.
- Driver documents: driver's licence and proof of insurance.
- Your notification history and app preferences.
What is kept, and why
Some records cannot be erased without destroying another business's evidence of a transaction it took part in:
- Signed trade agreements and their signatures. Two dealerships signed one document; neither can unilaterally remove it.
- Invoices and payment records, which both stores and their auditors need.
- The custody record of a vehicle — checklists, odometer readings and photographs taken at a handoff — which belongs to the trade, not to the account.
These are kept for seven years after the trade closes and are then deleted. Where we may, we replace your name in them with a reference, so the record stands without identifying you further.
If you have an open trade or an accepted drive, finish or hand it over first — otherwise a dealership is left with a vehicle in motion and nobody attached to it.
If your store removes you
A rooftop administrator can remove you from a dealership. That ends your access to that store immediately but does not delete your account; use the steps above if you want the account gone as well.

Terms of Service
Last updated 15 October 2026
These terms govern use of the DealerTrades app and website, operated by Dealer Trades, LLC.
Who may use DealerTrades
DealerTrades is for franchised dealerships, their staff, and the drivers those dealerships invite. You must be 18 or older and authorised by your dealership to act on its behalf.
What DealerTrades is, and is not
We provide the software two dealerships use to agree, record and settle a vehicle trade, and the software a driver uses to carry it out. The trade is between the two dealerships. We are not a party to it, we do not own or take title to the vehicles, and we do not employ the drivers a dealership dispatches.
Your account
Keep your credentials to yourself; you are responsible for what is done under your login. A rooftop administrator may add or remove users at their store.
Agreements and signatures
When both dealerships sign, the agreement locks. A later change creates a new version that both dealerships must sign; earlier versions and their signatures are preserved unaltered. You agree that an electronic signature in the app has the same effect as one on paper.
Drivers and vehicles
A dealership chooses its own drivers and is responsible for confirming they are licensed and insured to drive its vehicles. Drivers must follow the law, drive the vehicle assigned to them, and complete the checklists honestly.
Fees
DealerTrades charges the requesting dealership a fee per trade, invoiced to the accounts payable contact that store named. Driver pay is set by the dealership and invoiced separately by the driver.
Acceptable use
Do not misrepresent a vehicle or its condition, upload photographs that are not of the vehicle in front of you, attempt to access another dealership's data, or interfere with the service.
Availability and liability
We work to keep the service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted operation. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability is limited to the fees you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
Ending it
You may stop using DealerTrades at any time; see Account deletion. We may suspend an account that breaks these terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States.
